Water security as a service
Following pilot testing, NEPTUNE intends to provide drought-proof water and sanitation as a service, in water scarce communities. Just like mini utilities, a fleet of SWAP™ DPR robots will be deployed to users and operated remotely by experts. Coupled with periodic recharges from “off-the-aquifer” sources like saltwater and wastewater, NEPTUNE services will provide users with complete water and sanitation, immune to droughts and pollution, with affordable monthly bills based on usage.
Pilot project
Our team is currently deploying a pilot SWAP robot in Sherbrooke, in a 48 units multi-housing building currently under construction. This unit will help our team optimize and demonstrate SWAP™ capabilities. The robot will recycle a portion of the wastewater produced by the building, purify it to potable quality, and supply it back to the building for flushing toilets.
A transition has begun towards water reuse “because there’s no other option,” Richard Connor, editor-in-chief of the 2021 United Nations World Water Development Report published by UNESCO.
